I have been researching error this morning in the midst of packing, continuing to edit my new article. How refreshing this poetry by Francis Havergal is to the weary:

Verses for today:
“Woe to the world, because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom that stumbling block comes!” (Matthew 18:7)
“As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what he has received he is to be accursed! For am I now seeking the favor of men or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” (Galatians 1: 9-10)
“A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.” (Galatians 5:9)
“Holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.” (2 Timothy 3:5)
“Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm; the Lord will repay him according to his deeds. Be on guard against him yourself, for he vigorously opposed our teaching.” (2 Timothy 4:14-15)
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting.” (2 John 1:10)
“Save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.” (Jude 23)
“But I have this against you, that you have left your first love” (Revelation 2:3)
We have been redeemed to be teachable and submissive to God:
“We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know.” (1 Corinthians 8:1-2)“All this time you have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and all for your upbuilding, beloved.” (2 Corinthians 12:19)“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5)
