LTW and Apostasy Alert to Todd Bentley Gathering
I have been praying for my friend, Jackie, who took a small witnessing team with her to make a stand for the Bible at a gathering yesterday where Todd Bentley spoke! They set up a table and offered leaflets to people for free going into the "slain in the spirit" healing conference. Below is some of Jackie's report. We are thankful for God's protection and for how He used them as they witnessed at this event, giving Scriptures to expose counterfeit spirits. I wish I could have been with them! I was there through prayer. LTW may be able to use some of the supplies for our new ministry to San Jose, so I have offered to reimburse Jackie for her sign, table, etc. if we can use these supplies in our new outreach in San Jose. Jackie wrote the tracts for the event. I told her we would use any extra copies at the LTW outreach tables in all of our ministry locations.
I'll be doing a full report hopefully by next weekend. It did go well. There were five of us. We didn't get any flak from any authorities, just some disgruntled Bentley followers calling us Pharisees and hypocrites or those who tore up the tract and threw in trash disgustedly. One man gave me back the tract, and, as I reached out to grab it, he tried to slay me in the spirit with his other hand.
I rolled my eyes at him. They set up a fire tunnel in front of the place, and I had difficulty getting around it since they were blocking the road. [There was a] heavy presence of evil spirits. (Here's a fire tunnel on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns2ISpAaixo .)]
But, we also had some good feedback from several different people - some who were there just to get the goods on their silly friends they knew shouldn't be getting into this. For instance, there was one young man who looked like Prince....He was so excited that we were there that he just kept saying to us, "You guys are awesome."
Another person who had taken a tract, an older Korean man, came back out after the event. He told us that, after reading our tract, he had become suspicious...Then upon going in [to the healing conference], he said the music was hypnotic, and there was a goat's head in the shape of a pentagram projected on the wall behind the musicians. He explained that, for this reason, he got out of there!
We were able to give out around 500 leaflets altogether...I did check out the crowd also, and the upper deck was pretty much empty. I, too, estimated around 7,000 in attendance. The majority of them were Asian - mainly Korean - probably because the main sponsor of the gig was Che Ahn in Pasadena, who also is Asian. When I was talking with my sister, Janet, who was there with me about the oddity of the Asian majority, she pointed out that Paul (David) Yonngi Cho's popularity is big in that community; so, naturally, those Christians would be very influenced in a bad way.
We were all a bit worn out, so we [did] not go back out today in the heat & humidity. I really think we sent a message, and the crowd will probably be the same people coming back today, only less of them on a Sunday.
Watching & Waiting,
Jackie
