LTW to the Smokies Update (from this morning)

From my mother, who leads this outreach location:

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will be glad and rejoice in it.” Psalm 118:24

Although I thank God for all of the rain we have received lately, this morning I was tempted to recite the nursery rhyme which states “Rain, Rain go away; come again some other day.”

However, the above Scripture is much more appropriate. The excitement of beginning the LTW to the Smokies outreach for this season will be just as real next week. The wind is blowing too much today, and the rain is on its way again. I want to thank God for His sovereignty and His plans, which are always perfect and good. Phillip Breeden, a member of one of the singles’ classes at Sevier Heights Baptist Church, volunteered to help today. We spoke on the phone last night, as well as early this morning, and agreed that we should cancel for today. The materials on our table are expensive to replace; the wind and rain could damage them. God willing we will be at the Sugarlands Visitor Center outside of Gatlinburg next Saturday from 9:30 A.M.-2:00 P.M. Please let me know if you would like to serve the Lord with us there.
