I am writing today from the studio in New York to let everyone know I appreciate the prayers. I leave every evening so tired, but the songs are really coming to life and could not be better. It is a lot of work. I am thankful to have such a talented arranger and producer.
The Internet connection is very weak in my room at night, and I have been so exhausted that I just get back to the room to get to bed and wake up early again the next morning to head back to the studio. Obviously, because I no longer live in NYC, we are trying to make the most of every day...
This Saturday I plan to be working with Christine at our ministry table here and some other people from First Baptist NYC to get the outreach back in action on a regular basis with a new leader. I am meeting with my former pastor, Matthew Carpenter, about this today when we take a break from the studio.
This week I am recording the following songs I have written, which we will use in our ministry in various ways, especially making them available at our table outreach locations:
A Higher Power (about how Jesus is higher than all other powers)
Still (a worship song)
Don't Pass Him By (a prayer for someone to know Jesus as Savior)
Old-Time Religion (I have re-written the old standard with new verses which tell of my upbringing in church three times a week in the South!)
For God's glory,
Dwayna
