As I drove to the mountains this morning, I was listening to Uncle Charlie on the radio. What a blessing the Bible Broadcasting Network is to my life! The first thing I do when I awake each morning is turn on my radio, which is always set on that station. Each Saturday morning the Children’s Bible Hour is on with Uncle Charlie. To me, living the “good life” is driving through beautiful mountains listening to children sing: “Let’s talk about Jesus. Let’s talk of His love. Let’s talk about Jesus and heaven above. Let’s go about living for Jesus the Lord. Let’s talk about Jesus and live in His Word.” Uncle Charlie’s Keys for Kids booklets were given to several children today at our ministry table, although there were not as many coming to the table as usual. Perhaps that is because tourists with children are getting ready for school to begin.
The Bibles on the table were gone very quickly. Each person had a need for taking one. One man said his wife did not read the Bible, and he wanted to give it to her. She listened as I told her how much Jesus meant to me. I explained how it is God’s Word to us and how He will speak to her as she reads it. They were with another couple who stood listening. They also took a Bible and promised to read it, confessing they had never seen the importance of reading it before. Only God can bring people like this to the table and show them the mercy even to want to know Him enough to read a Bible. They took sermons on CD by my pastor, Hollie Miller, at Sevier Heights Baptist Church and by my former pastor, Tommy Fox, at Theta Baptist Church in Columbia, TN.
Many families with teenagers took New Age tracts such as “Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve,” “Christian Yoga,” and the booklet, Autobiography of A Yogi. The books: Deceived On Purpose, Not My Child, and The Light That Was Dark were taken by Christians who had friends and family who were being introduced to occult practices or actually taking part in them. Almost everyone left with the booklets, Where Do We Go From Here? and The Way of the Shepherd.
One lady took the DVD, Six Secrets to Creating Your Dream Marriage by Dr. Randy Carlson. Although she and her husband were on an anniversary weekend, they are considering a divorce. She asked me to pray that watching it would be a meaningful experience in keeping them together.
When people took the witnessing cards to use with Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses, I encouraged them to order more from the website on the back of each card. The cards effectively point out error in their theology and give scripture to refute it.
Although I thought I had enough materials to meet the needs of the day, I needed more, because God brought more folks up to the table than we had resources. Due to not having my camera today, I am unable to show you the way the table looked at 9 A.M. and the way it looked by noon. There was practically nothing left. One lady came asking for a Bible as I was packing to leave, and I did not have one to give her.
There is always a need for more materials and for more to say about Jesus. Dwayna is shipping a box of Bibles and more materials for this location this week. Thank you for your support of this outreach and prayers. More resources are needed.

“More about Jesus would I know,
More of His grace to others show,
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love who died for me!”
