Comment on Redeemer Pres. NYC (See Post Below)

Its all part of that philosophy of men called "12 steps to improvement or success over _______________". Everytime I heard Redeemer mentioned, it was always people saying the main reason they go there is because the "sermons are so intellectual". That is fascinating considering that not even the word "Gospel" was mentioned or the love of truth and doctrine. It doesn't help that their eschatological view of prophecy and its importance is not relevant to them as they feel Israel no longer has a purpose in God's plan because, in essence, the Church has replaced Israel a/k/a "replacement theology" or "reconstructionism", and therefore the Church is now spiritual Israel and is the recipient of all the promises made by God to that nation. Funny, because when you take that view, you would also have to be the recipient of all the curses promised to those who disobeyed the Law and commandments and statutes. It is a totally skewed interpretation of the scriptures, futhermore, it is "another gospel" which uses christianese, but denies the Power.
