"Shattering the power of the 'holy people'"

From a LTW prayer partner and dear friend who helps me with research:

Deuteronomy 32:36 "For the Lord will vindicate His people, and will have compassion on His servants, when He sees that their strength is gone, and there is none remaining, bond or free."

Daniel 12:7 "I heard the man dressed in linen. who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times and half a time; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed."

Well, I always thought Why would the holy people be shattered? You would think it would be the wicked power that is crushed. But not so, as Matthew Henry states "God's time to help and relieve His people is when their affairs are brought to the last extremity; in the mount of the Lord it shall be seen that Isaac is saved just when he lies ready to be sacrificed, cf. Gen. 22.14. Now the event answered the prediction; Josephus says that Antiochus surprised Jerusalem and held it three years and six months, and was then cast out of the country by the Maccabees. Christ's public ministry continued three years and a half, during which time he endured the contradiction of sinners against himself, and lived in poverty and disgrace; and then, when at his death, his enemies triumphed over him, he obtained the most glorious victory and said, It is finished." pg.1137...Henry goes on to say "When we take a view of the affairs of this world, and of the church of God in it, we see things move as if they would end in the utter ruin of God's kingdom among men. When we see vice and impiety, the decay of religion, the sufferings of the righteous, and the triumphs of the ungodly, we may well ask, My Lord, what will the outcome of all this be?.........As long as the world stands, there will still be in it a mixture of good and bad, v. 10 Bad men will do bad things; and a bad tree will never bear good fruit Luke 6.4. Wicked practices are the natural products of wicked principles and dispositions. We are told, before, that the wicked will continue to be wicked.......Yet, bad as the world is, God will secure to himself a remnant of good people in it. There shall be many, to whom the providences and ordinances of God shall be a savour of life to life. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, by their troubles. The word of God shall do them good. When none of the wicked will understand, but stumble at the word, the wise will understand."pg.1137

'The Message' is a New Age Bible

Do you get The Message? If "the message" is from Eugene Peterson it is not biblical!

Here is a new article by Chuck T. warning of this new age Bible. (The article also references the Living Bible.)

Testimony of Former Homosexual and Prisoner, James Hartline

Free From The Shackles of Homosexuality:
How I Was Changed Into Another Man

"Afterward you will come to the hill of God where the Philistine garrison is; and it shall be as soon as you have come there to the city, that you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and a lyre before them, and they will be prophesying. Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man. It shall be when these signs come to you, do for yourself what the occasion requires, for God is with you."1 Samuel 10:5-7

I was formed in the darkness. I was born in the darkness. I was shackled at birth and sentenced to a very deadly outcome. From the womb I came into a world where I was beaten everyday for fourteen years. From the maelstrom of the madness of abusive parents, I was carted away by juvenile authorities and placed in a state children's home for my own protection. My path was chosen for me by those who shuffle children around like gamblers shuffle cards at a casino poker table.

Homosexuality, drugs, stealing, and depression became the constants in my life. Where is the justice in a world where the only place to put a hopeless teenager is simply to put that teenager away...away.....away? And away I went. I would eventually spend nineteen years in state prison for stealing to support my wasted life. Suicide attempts and mental self-destruction would become a regular part of my incarcerations. My mother's hatred over her unwanted pregnancy had culminated in the early fulfillment of my pointless existence upon the earth.

For two decades of my adult life I was chained in despair, a phantom life that was plundered by the devil, but preserved by God for something profound, something churning in the mystery of God's mind, something that would shake the very construct of hell's plans.

I was released from prison in 1997. That year, I would be infected with the AIDS virus. All that Satan could muster in his demonic arsenal was unleashed upon me that year. What was it about me that would cause the enemy of all mankind to pursue my death with such fury, such pent up rage, such vile hatred? I had no formal education. I barely had a high school diploma. I had no money, no reputation, no standing in society. I was the mud on the bottom of the government's boot, an ex-con with a burned out mind and a deadly disease in my body.

There was only one answer to this perplexing question. The winds of God's plan had unfolded in my jail cell in 1985. Despite the darkness that had held me captive, a vision of my future was granted me in that jail cell. In that vision, God placed armor upon me and branded these words upon my soul: "I Am preparing you to do battle for Me in the last days."

Despite many more attempts by the devil to exterminate me after that one heaven sent experience, the Lord preserved me until a day in 1998 when the prophetic power of God came upon me and changed me into another man.

How do I write the words that I write? I have had no formal lessons in literary prowess. How do I speak the way that I speak? I have been granted no education in speaking, nor any speaking tips from toastmasters. Where has my knowledge of God and the revelations from His word been generated from? I have no certificates from theological schools or Biblical promotions from megachurch classrooms.

It is simply the Hand of God which plucked me from the grip of a satanic plot to destroy the prophetic assignment that God Almighty has appointed for me. It has always been this way with God. He chooses the foolish things to confound the wise. God appoints the weakest and least qualified men and women to perform His most difficult works upon the earth. For in our weaknesses He makes us strong. When we are uneducated and impoverished, the Master of Heaven and Earth qualifies us and empowers us.

I have seen in visions and dreams the great troubles that are coming upon the earth. There are great tribulations which are coming soon to devastate humanity. However, I have already faced death. I do not fear death. I have been trained for battle in the cesspools of sin and the dungeons of devils. For those who think that they cannot overcome the oppressions of life and the misfortunes of missed opportunities, look to my example. Know that your feelings of being inadequate for the tumultuous times we live in are overcome by the power of the living God. Be convinced that your concerns with qualifications for the effective ministries of the Lord are resolved by the calling of God that was placed upon you in your mother's womb. I have gone from imprisonment, mental illness, AIDS and homosexuality to having my life story told all over the world on the 700 Club.

I have been unshackled from my past because the power of God has changed me into another man. That same power will unshackle you as well.

Working with Heritage Baptist in NYC

From Christine, leader of our NYC outreach:

"And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."~ Exodus 14:13-14

Isn't it awesome to know we have God fighting for us? The pastor [at Heritage Baptist] said that even if there was only one true believer left in NYC amongst a city of unbelievers (he brought this up because of a campaign the atheists just started in the subways and buses that state "Over 1 mil NY'ers are good without God"), God STILL wins. AMEN!!!

He's a really good speaker and very passionate...[Pastor Recker] mentioned the table ministry twice this a.m. during the service and spoke out about the danger of contemplative prayer entering into the church as well as Christians needing to be held accountable for their sins. If you want to take a look at Heritage's website, here is a link: http://www.hbcnyc.org/. He also has a few of his sermons posted if you want to listen at any time.

Updates (Atlanta and NYC)

I am inundated with web site updates. I will be posting new articles on the web site tonight, plus working on updating the web site.

I have the table and the sign/banner for the new outreach in Atlanta. I just need to check now about the area "Little 5 Points" where we may be able to set up and get a few more supplies. We are making progress on getting this new ministry location started.

I am also working on a new video to a song I have written called "Still". It is about God's faithfulness, and I have compiled photos to go with the music. God has given us a very talented creative director for that project who is doing the whole thing for free.

God has given us new storage space in NYC, and we will be working with a new church, Heritage Baptist. We are moving the table outreach to Madison Square Park, close to Madison Square Garden. We will reach many more tourists there. It is a much better place for an evangelistic ministry of apologetics in NYC. We are still working with Matthew Carpenter at First Baptist NYC, too.

New Materials Sent to Outreach Table in Rio Grande Valley

From Curt and Janie (leaders):

Just wanted to let you know we received your box of materials. Thank you very much. In that box were:

10 - (printouts) - "Christian Yoga"
60 "Choose This Day - Jesus or Yoga
"An Autobiography of a Yogi"
"In Touch" - Charles Stanley
"Dream Marriage-Relationship Repair Workbooks for 8 CD set" (Workbooks and DVD both mention "Dream Marriage PowerPack")
100 "The Way of The Shepherd" booklet - Don Baker - Ps. 23

Salvation by Grace: Dividing Line between Cults and Christianity

"This is the exact dividing line between Christianity and the cults. If I am talking to Mormons, I can point out that if someone is involved in a car wreck, I can run out to them, witness to them, they can accept Christ moments before they die, and they will go to heaven. No Mormon will accept that, saying NO! NO! HE MUST DO SOME THINGS FIRST! The Mormons will talk your ear off about grace, but they simply don’t accept any such thing in actual practice. As Josh McDowell put it, salvation by works righteousness is the universal panacea of fallen mankind, but that isn’t Christianity." --Mark Thompson

LTW Update: Venice Beach

(The team planned to set up this Saturday. However, they could not get a spot, so they are planning on setting up as soon as possible in November. Below is an update from Mike with more details about the last time they set up the outreach table at Venice with free materials to lead people to salvation through Jesus.) Mike and Dan at the booth as God brings people
over with questions about Jesus
Dan witnessing at the table,
having conversations with people about Jesus and how to be saved...
Dan arrived at approximately 11:30 and brought a large canopy...Just after we put up the canopy, a couple stopped by the table and looked through the materials. The book Against the Wind was displayed in the center of the table, so the lady picked it up. I told her that the author, Brian Flynn, writes about how he and his girlfriend studied under a prominent psychic to learn how to tell fortunes. After a number of months of training in the techniques of meditation, the psychic introduced them to their “spirit guides” who would tell the fortunes of their clients. I told the lady about how Brian ultimately discovered that these spirit guides were really demons in disguise...Dan smiled at me and mentioned that she was probably into the New Age and didn’t want to think that she might be involved with demons, but that it’s obviously something she needed to hear.

"...believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are from God..." 1 John 4:1

"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." 2 Corinthians 11:14

The Lord Jesus warned against "false Christs and false prophets" (Matthew 24:24). Peter warned against false teachers (2 Peter 2:1). The test is always that of complete fidelity to the Scripture and only Scripture as determinative for Christian faith and practice. (Isaiah 8:20, 2 Timothy 3:15-17; and 2 Peter 3:3, 15-18).

The Rising Darkness in Children's Games

Read this latest article from Berit Kjos here.

"...Training kids to love evil more than good..."

What a battle Christian parents will face in the years ahead. It’s so sad! This spiritual darkness is more threatening than physical war, terrorism, socialism/communism, economic chaos and everything else that is changing. Yet it all fits together. It’s to be expected in a world that rejects the true God. --Berit Kjos

N. T. Wright and Universalism

“...many today have no desire to be started by controversy, but I would submit that much of the modern church is a sleeping church, and she needs to be alarmed and startled concerning those who are creeping in UNNOTICED – IN DROVES.”

Must See DVDs

Here are three major DVDs made in London in July by Richard Bennett, former Catholic priest:

DVD 'Establishing the Authentic Gospel'
This message is based on Richard's fourteen years of search for the true Gospel. It includes his struggle, as a Catholic Priest, with man-centered Evangelicals.
http://www.youtube.com/v/8JhJooXnJIU&hl=en&fs=1

DVD 'The Adulation of Man in the Purpose Driven Life'
Richard exposes the widespread movement that is afflicting thousands upon thousands of souls across the world. Not only does he document with exact quotations Warren's empire of deceit, but with precision and the light of Scripture he gives the true Gospel of the Lord Christ Jesus.
http://www.youtube.com/v/i74E53y1gCE&hl=en&fs=1

DVD 'The Mindset of Catholicism Permeating Evangelicalism'
This DVD includes quotations from the Catholic Church's official teaching. It shows how these same mindsets have become the basis of so-called salvation in New Evangelical churches. Other main mindsets are also addressed, the most important being idolatry in pictures and DVDs of Jesus Christ. http://www.youtube.com/v/0K0BLiOZzYU&hl=en&fs=1

Giving God the Glory for My Life!

My glory is too small a thing to give my life to it. ( I got that from Andy Stanley.) Life is too good to not give God all the glory! (Here I am swinging from a big tree in Baton Rouge last month before singing at Angola Prison last month.) The God of the Bible is the God of happiness!

Looking forward to Returning to Angola to do More Prison Ministry

We saw some of Angola's history as we toured what used to be the quarters for the meanest prisoners.
I sang "Just As I Am" and "Amazing Grace" to prisoners on Death Row. (I am pictured with Brad, a chaplain at Angola.)
Bob, a member of our team, took this photo of me in the museum "jail", not the real one! :-)

LTW Update: Atlanta, NYC and Boulder

Atlanta: I got directions today to the area where we may be able to set up a table outreach. I plan to drive out to the place as soon as possible this week to take photos. (I hope I can find it. I have never been to the area before.)

NYC: We are in the process of moving our resources and supplies for the table outreach in NYC to a new location. We are working to get this done as soon as possible.

Boulder: Here is a prayer request from Jonathan and Carrie and the team "reaching Boulder"; Jonathan asked for prayer for these people.

1. Kat--she is coming out of drugs and realizes there is a God.
2. Lindsey--she does not want to refer to God as "He". Lindsey wants to call God "she" or "mother." (Of course, this is the spirit of witchcraft.)
3. Megan--she is trusting she is "good enough" to make it to heaven. She is a Catholic and believes she is good. (Of course the evangelistm team, trained by Ray Comfort's materials, have quickly pointed out that she is not perfect enough to get to heaven without a Savior.)

Answered prayer for Boulder--Jonathan gave me Patty's number today, a new member of our team. I called her and hope to hear back soon. She has offered to move our materials for the table outreach to a storage unit closer to the Pearl Street location where we set up the ministry. This will also help the team use the camera to take more photos, as the camera can be better shared by the team. The team plans to be back out witnessing in Boulder next weekend.

The Sobriety of a Christian

I have had such a great day and gotten a lot accomplished by phone concerning our outreach locations. My time with the Lord, as He has taught me through the Bible, has been so special. I was reading Ephesians 5 today. It is interesting that "jesting" and "foolish talk" is in the same category with fornication. Ephesians 5:4 says (on things we should avoid), “neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.”

Henry Morris wrote the following explanation in his commentary, which is encouraging to me. I have often felt serious compared to other people, including other Christians. Well, there is a reason for seriousness and for evaluating my life in light of Jesus living inside me and not wasting time for His glory.

“It seems that the popularity of many Christian speakers today is measured by the amount of humorous anecdotes and witticisms that they can inject into their messages, but one never finds this element in the sermons of Christ, the letters of Paul or anywhere in the Bible. Sin and salvation are sober, serious issues.” --Henry Morris

George Beverly Shea at Angola Prison

George Beverly Shea was recently at Angola prison in Louisiana. [I am looking forward to sharing my testimony and singing at Angola in the next few months, and many of my music CDs have been donated for the Christian radio station at Angola. I thank God to be part of such a powerful prison ministry.] John Innes, the organist and formerly with the Billy Graham Crusade(over 50 years), and George Beverly Shea donated an organ for one of the chapels at Angola. Rev. Robert Toney was the MC. The Warden graciously accepted the organ for the Main Prison Chapel, September 29th. 09.

Prayer Request from Nitoy in the Philippines

Will you pray for us and uphold us? Pray that our heartbeat is to glorify and win more souls for Him. Pray for us for strength and wisdom for the things we will do. Pray for those members who haven't put their salvation in Christ. Thank you for all your prayers and support. God bless you more. --Nitoy

-------

I promised Nitoy I would CONTINUE to pray for him, encouraging him to stay in the Word, because Satan hates what he is doing. God is at work through him and the team as they are telling so many students about Jesus.

Harry Potter (New Article for Parents)

A new article has been posted for parents on the LTW web site here by Charisse Graves on Harry Potter.

Work for Tonight

I am organizing photos from Angola prison to be posted soon. I have done bookkeeping this weekend, as it has been very cold today. I am looking forward to church tomorrow and more updating for the web site.

Keeping Truth a Secret?

The occult is based on secrets and "hidden" knowledge. The Bible teaches that "everything hidden shall be revealed." Unlike the "god of this age", "the father of lies", and "the great deceiver" (how Satan is described in the Bible), the God of the Bible is the God of LIGHT. He exposes and reveals secrets. I was speaking to a friend about this tonight and these verses came to mind, especially pertaining to the way a church functions (when deacons/elders keep secret, ungodly decisions from church members). We must remember that Jesus is the head of the church, not people.

Matthew 10:26
Mark 4:22
Luke 8:17
Luke 12:2
Ephesians 5:11-12
2 Corinthians 4:2

LTW Research

Here I am with my friend, Charisse. We met this month for the first time in person after discussing research by phone. I am thankful to be working with her, making a stand for the Bible against pop-culture attacks on Jesus. Her friendship is a gift to me. I am so thankful for the blessing of good friends who make me want to be the best I can be for God's glory.

Rio Grande Valley

We are ordering more materials for this location of outreach. The leaders, Curt and Janie, are very organized, and they are doing an excellent job setting up at New Age fairs, etc. in the Rio Grande Valley.

Please pray for more funding for this location.

Update

"Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness...But I know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto Him...Thou hast put gladness in my heart..." Psalm 4

I had a great time late last night reading the Bible. Then I prayed to God about everything in my life, realizing that He has a purpose and perfect timing for all things. I started a new song in praise to God for His faithfulness late last night...

I am behind on blog posts. Tomorrow, or late tonight, I will be posting about Angola prison, as we plan to do ongoing work there.

I am preparing for my next trip to the Rio Grande Valley to meet with leaders of the outreach there and work with them at the table ministry. We are also showing a DVD at their church the Sunday I will be with them. (I cancelled my trip to LA next week to save money; Mike and Eileen are planning on setting up at Venice Beach on Oct. 31, and an update with photos will follow.)

It has been another rainy day here in Atlanta. Next week, I will drive out to "Little Five Points", an area where we can possibly begin a new outreach. I will take photos and be in touch by the blog.

We may be expanding to partner with a table outreach of apologetics in Canada. More details will soon follow...

We have a new web site designer, and I have been working on getting details to him here in Atlanta. This will require many hours of my time to get us caught up on the web site.

I think we have a new bookkeeper! This is an answer to prayer. I should have this confirmed in the next few days.

I am reminded that God saved me to have my heart. Having Him live in me is such an honor, and it is a joy to know Him with all of my heart. Many people 'believe' in God, but having a relationship with Him as my Friend is the greatest gift of my life.

So, when there is more work to do than I can get done in a day, I remember that my first ministry is TO God--to LIVE for Him and enjoy Him as He lives in my heart to stay.

"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee and will look up." Psalm 5:3

In His faithfulness,
Dwayna

Verse for Apostate "Elders" and "Deacons"

Sadly, we encountered another church in NYC that does not want to stand for truth. Our outreach table was not "seeker-friendly" enough, and they were afraid it might offend people. When we asked them if there was any resource on our table that went against the Bible, they could name nothing. When asked if there were any materials grievous to Jesus on our table, the deacons were silenced and forced to admit that their opinion had nothing to do with what the Bible teaches. They did not want to work with us, because they are seeking the praise of men and not God and are not willing to stand for Truth if it costs them anything, mainly financial support from donors.

"Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life." Ezekiel 13:22

Verse Against "Soul Travel"/Astral Projection

A warning to false prophets:

"Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly." Ezek. 13:20

(Some people involved in occult spirituality boast of "soul travel". Through meditation they leave their bodies for "outer-body experiences". It is highly satanic. We will share this verse with the people at Venice Beach the next time God brings up someone involved in astral projection.)

"A Call to Anguish" Quoting David Wilkerson on the Sad State of the Church Today

From LTW Research team:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27DIST8qO4I

Soon To Come...

I am spending the night tonight with my dad in East TN. I have been on the phone a lot today, catching up on work. Soon to come: updates from Boulder, NYC, Venice Beach, West Hollywood, and the Rio Grande Valley. (It has been too cold recently to set up outside of Gatlinburg at our outreach table to tourists of the Smoky Mountain National Park.)

I have been in touch with our current web designer, who has done such a wonderful job DONATING her time to this ministry. However, she has gotten busier with work and has no time to keep our web site updated. We have a new designer in Atlanta. Though he is not working with us for free, he is working for a fair price. Bottom line is we have to get this site updated. We are behind on new outreach locations, as well as an online store to sell tracts and booklets we have written, as well as music CDs.

We have also bought the domain for a site to be constructed for the lost, owned by this ministry. We won't have any links to LTW on the new site, and my name will not be mentioned. This separate site will be conducive for follow-up with lost people long after they leave our table outreach locations. The new site will teach them how to be saved based on Scripture. We will have the url on all of our books and tracts. However, I have to get the site done. This is another top priority, especially since we have paid for the url for this site, and the money is being wasted unless we get it up and running. I left a message for our current web designer to get me any details to give to a new web designer in Atlanta to get this going.

That being said, God is in control, and He has the perfect timing for all things. We have all been working as hard as possible, and there is only so much we can do. The team leaders are encouraged, despite hard times. Dan, our leader in West Hollywood and Long Beach, is finding daily encouragement and provision from God during a time of extremely tight finances. When details change, God is not caught off guard. We are learning to lean more on Him as He leads.

I am praying for more funds to continue to make shipments to the Philippines monthly, plus Mexico, as we are speaking to Christians about a starting a new table of apologetics there in Baja California.

Sharing My Testimony and Singing at First Baptist Morristown, TN Last Night

I sang at First Baptist Morristown, TN yesterday for the first time since I left there at age five when I used to sing solos there as a child. It was a blessing. We felt the presence of the sweet Holy Spirit as I told about how Jesus keeps His own and praised Him for being such a faithful Shepherd to me all of my life, making me indebted to such Love to tell others about Him.
All glory goes to God as He helped me and kept my voice strong, despite the fact that I felt like I had a fresh cold. I rarely get sick, but I woke up Sunday morning with a stuffy head and prayed that God would use me for His glory and make my voice strong despite the way I felt. He was at work, and people felt His presence and love as I share about His faithfulness in my life...
...and then we watched a video on Lighting the Way to see the ministry in action in all of our locations...
The women in the church came down and prayed for me at the end, and I could not help but cry as I felt God's amazing love.
I sang "Til The Storm Passes Over" in the middle of my testimony and ended with my testimony in song, "My Prize."
I spoke about how God wants to be Everything to me...and how He saved us to be our all in all. Some of the people came up to me with tears after the service, but no one got more of a blessing than I. I told how I was saved in that church when I was 5 years old and baptized and how God came into my heart to stay.
(Photos were taken at sound check before the evening service.)

Praising God for a Great Day of Worship Yesterday at First Baptist Morristown

“...by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence." Colossians 1:16-18

Quick Update

I am in East TN, and it is freezing here! I am fighting off a cold, preparing to sing tomorrow. I am looking forward to being at First Baptist Morristown, TN for all three services tomorrow.

It was too cold to set up the table outreach in the Smoky Mountains today.

Thank you for your prayers. Without the Holy Spirit at work, the songs will mean nothing. I just pray the Holy Spirit will work as I sing in the morning for both services, and I pray the Lord will touch hearts as I share my testimony tomorrow night and that everyone will see that this ministry belongs to God as I show a DVD on all of our mission locations and sing two songs at the end.

With Jesus living in me,
Dwayna

Update from Tel Aviv (from Dov and Olga Bikas)

Dear praying friends,

As you may remember from my last update, about two months ago we established contact with Tanya, a woman from a shelter for victims of human trafficking and sexual slavery. (By the way, here is the website of Tanya’s shelter: http://www.maagan-shelter.org.il/English.html). The shelter was forcing her to move out and start an independent life, but she had nowhere to go with her two little children. Today, praise God, a small home church in Haifa is ready to take care of Tanya and her kids. They do not have the necessary funds, however, since they are just a small group of people, so we have to provide the money for Tanya’s family to move and start living there. Praise God, there were believers who responded to this need and sent their support, so we have been able to start putting some money aside for Tanya’s future needs. She will need it when she moves to Haifa, and this is going to happen as soon as the social workers decide whether they are letting Tanya’s kids stay with her or not. We had a very important meeting with the social services several weeks ago and it looked like they were willing to give Tanya a chance!

Our contact with Tanya let us get acquainted with several other victims of human trafficking who live in the same shelter. Soon after we met these women we decided to start weekly Bible studies for them – the offer they gladly accepted! Five-six women (and their kids) attend these studies, which have been taking place in a local park so far. A noisy park, however, is not the best background for Bible studies, so we have found and rented a good Christian place nearby for this purpose. Although now we will have to pay for this place and for a taxi to bring everyone there, we still think this effort is worthwhile: these women are so eager to learn more about God! (And we see clearly they do not attend our Bible studies just in order to get some social or financial help from us, since all of them, except for Tanya, are doing pretty well financially.)

One day I received a very precious encouragement from God. After one of our Shabbat services a woman from our congregation approached me and gave me an envelope saying: “God has put it on my heart to give this money to you.” It was amazing to hear that, since this woman – just as most of our believers – is an elderly lady who lives on a small pension. “For the expansion of God’s kingdom” – this is what was written on the envelope with a sum of money that is quite unusual for a pensioner to donate… This donation encouraged me: now we believe that God will take care of everything and provide for the new Bible study with these women.

Please keep praying for Tanya and her friends from the shelter!

Thank you very much for your prayer support and may God bless you,

Dov and Olga Bikas

Persecution is Worth the Reward

2 Chronicles 14:11&12: "Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, "Lord, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; let not man prevail against You." So the Lord routed the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled."

2 Chronicles 15:2: "..."Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: The Lord is with you when you are with Him, And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you."

2 Chronicles 15:4-7: "But in their distress they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him, 'In those times there was no peace to him who went out or to him who came in, for many disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands. Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every kind of distress. But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work."

Ministry Update (Starting New Outreach in Atlanta...and more)

We are in the process of getting our latest LTW video transferred to YouTube. I will let everyone know via the blog when this new DVD of all of our ministry locations in action is posted. Many copies of this DVD have been sent to pastors and Christians who have been interested in getting more involved in our outreaches, and many more are on the way to churches and prayer partners.

I am leaving for East TN tomorrow and plan to work at the "LTW to the Smokies" location on Saturday and then sing Sunday morning and Sunday night at First Baptist Morristown. Please pray that people will see Jesus through me as I speak about His amazing love.

When I return next Tuesday I plan to: 1) take photos of an area here in Atlanta called "Little Five Points"; I have heard from many people that it would be a great place to set up a table outreach here; 2) call team members interested in working with me here at a new table ministry location and get the word out to prayer partners for specific needs in order to get this new outreach off the ground.

I HAVE CANCELLED MY TRIP AT THE END OF THE MONTH TO LA to save on funds. The teams in West Hollywood and Venice Beach are doing a great job, and it seems that I am meant to visit at another time after I have saved money. LTW is expanding, yet the funds are down. I feel it would be more pleasing to God for me to not spend the money on travel expenses to LA and hotel accomodations for that trip at this time, so I have cancelled working with the teams the last weekend of this month.

My next trip will be to visit the team in the Rio Grande Valley. I am in prayer about this and hope to speak and sing at their church and pray with the elders about our table outreach at New Age fairs in Texas.

LTW Update: Rio Grande Valley (Oct. 3)

From Curt and Janie Rolf:

OCTOBER – JACKSON ST. TABLE MINISTRY
RIO GRANDE VALLEY – TEXAS
(October 3, 2009)

We were much more at ease today. Prayer helps a lot. We prayed with two neighboring vendors (from our church) who requested to have their booths next to ours.

We are finding the ministry not only taking place in front of the table, but with the vendors beside us, as well as those joining us behind the table. We encouraged those joining us behind the table to check-out the materials on the table and let us know what they think. This generated some interesting conversations.

It was a ‘blistering-hot’ day!! But numbers of vendors as well as shoppers are on the rise. Many stopped for coloring books and many stopped to ‘look’ over the adult materials.

It was such a joy to talk with a delightful young man (13 y/o?) named Angel – He was very interested in hearing more about Jesus and asked for a children’s Bible. What a thrill it would be to see him again.

Another young fellow (8 y/o?) named Elijiah - an amazing, excellent reader – started reading the little tract “Hey Kids” (memorizing the 10 commandments) with Janie. What fun!!!
He was eager to receive a Bible and we talked a bit about it.

It was so exciting to have the full, interested, attention of 2 young fellows for more than just a couple of minutes.

Another family stopped by with several older children. They joyfully received an Nlrv Bible for the family and agreed to return and let us know what they’ve discovered.

Curt even enjoyed visiting with a young fellow and talked about God and ‘creation’ in one of our last coloring books (unable to purchase any more).

Janie started out a conversation with Andrew and wife, both being recent converts from Catholicism. Curt quickly picked up on an indepth conversation on the non-validity of ‘universalism’. Andrew has been exposed to many different theologies and doctrines since his conversion. Please pray that God will protect this newly converted couple from false teachings.

IT WAS A GOOD, BLESSED, SPIRIT-FILLED DAY!!!

Keeping God on the Throne of Our Hearts

I thank Him that He is a jealous God, and He wants to be my everything. I am so happy with Him as the GOD of my life who owns me from head to toe! I thank Him for His faithfulness to be ENOUGH for my happiness and peace as a single person.

"Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the Lord?"
1 Chronicles 29:5"

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
Romans 12:1-2

Questions and Answers (Why Are We Worshiping on Sunday?)

I received this email:

"My son is...saved, and very intelligent, and has been very angry at me for putting Saturday aside; he says that we are Christians and explained something about the calendar that we use today not existing back then...Somehow he explained the math, that the seventh day is in fact Sunday, and that as Christians we should be honoring it on Sunday. I am now thinking my son was right. May I have your input/advise on these things?"

My answer:

Here are scriptures to show that we are free to worship on Sundays. Please read Romans 14:7 to your son, and then read Mark 8:31, Luke 23:53-36 and Luke 24:1-7. Basically, Jesus rose on the “first day of the week”, and to celebrate the resurrection, we meet to worship on Sundays. See Acts 20:7. Paul preached to the disciples “on the first day of the week”…

So, in honor of our Savior’s resurrection we worship on Sundays. Romans 14:7 frees us to worship Him every day. He is our new Sabbath rest—see Hebrews 4:3.

Team Witnessing in Madison Square Park Today in NYC

We are praying about where exactly God wants us to set up the table. We are feeling like the Lord has another place in mind, so today the team set out for Madison Square Park, working with some members of Heritage Baptist Church. Unfortunately, there were no photos taken today. Here is an update from Christine:

...The service at Heritage Baptist was a blessing. The Sr. Pastor was not there today but his son preached in his place and did an excellent job speaking on the church and how it should function-- leaders and congregants. It was great to hear in this time of apostasy! We also had a great day today passing out Gospel of John booklets to people in Madison Square Park, which is down the street from Heritage Baptist. It was Suzi, Heidi, Kollie and myself-- both Heidi and Kollie attend Heritage Baptist. It was a little chilly and windy today but well worth it! :)

We were told by Heidi and Kollie that Madison Square Park is a stronghold of Satan with many homosexuals and members of Eastern religions visiting or passing thru. Nevertheless, we were still able to hand to people Gospel of John booklets, even after they asked what it was. A few that I saw showed real happiness to receive it, and I pray that God will work in the hearts of those who do read it and those who were witnessed to, and lead them to Jesus...

NYC Table Outreach (from last Sun.--Oct. 4)

I want to update you on the table ministry here in NYC. As I wrote earlier in the week, last Sunday we were rained out, so Suzi and I ended up handing out tracts and booklets ( the Which Way to God? Is There Anybody Out There? Can We Be Good Without God? Where Is God When Things Go Wrong? booklets). That was a great experience! We had a lot of receptive people who stuck out their hands and took the booklets and tracts. So a lot of seeds were planted that day, praise God!

Today was a beautiful sunny day, low 70's. I set up the table...and stayed out there until around 4:30 P.M., maybe a little bit later, up until the Redeemer congregation started arriving for their 5:00 service. A lot of people came up to the table today, and praise God, the Bibles were all taken (one woman in particular came up and asked "This is free?! This is an answer to prayer I cannot believe it! Can I take this? And another one as well for my friend right here?" (She waved her friend over)...She was extremely happy to receive the Bibles and as I asked her name she said "Katelyn". I said that she and her friend would be in my prayers. She said "Yes, thank you! Please pray for us." They were in a rush to get somewhere, so they didn't stick around but that exchange was a blessing.

Suzi engaged in a real interesting conversation with a man who admitted he pretty much has tried every type of spirituality out there. He sounded very knowledgeable and was open to seeking Jesus and learning more about Him. He had a good understanding of the Jewish faith as well as Christianity, but he was missing the link as well as a belief that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. But he was open and took a CD (Dear Rabbi, Tell Me About Jesus [I think that is the title]), Warren Smith's, The Light that was Dark, the pages explaining Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Christ, and I think something else...

The pictures of the table were right after set up. You have to know that by the end of the time outside, the first entire row of books were gone, the 3 books of the Tanakah and the 4 Bibles. A few people took books and materials on Catholicism-- The Road to Rome and Truth Set Us Free (I think that is the title of the account of Nuns leaving Catholicism) and Preparing Catholics for Eternity. Also we had a very engaging conversation with Pastor Carpenter from First Baptist, who came back to the table later on with his wife and his darling little baby! His wife also has a beautiful voice that she graced us with during the service after communion.

It was an amazing day and all glory and praise to God and to Jesus our most precious Lord and Savior! We would have stayed out longer but we had to pack up before the evening service at Redeemer Pres. that night.

God bless,

Christine and Suzi

P.S.-- Oops, have to amend that the "entire" row of books were not taken, the Hebrew New Testaments were still around afterwards! And a few of the booklets, After Death, Then What? ;)

A Wonderful Time with the Lord in Prayer

Today I got up early, got all dressed up, and I headed to First Baptist Atlanta. I don't know what I was expecting, but there was a guest speaker who gave a fine sermon...but I left on my (long) drive back home thinking, "Lord, no one can help me but You." I knew I had to go home and hit my knees in prayer. I had grown so weary this week of the battle to just keep pressing on in faith, to be the girl He saved me to be. Even visiting churches can be lonely when I am in a new town, not really knowing for sure where I am meant to join. But, my relationship with Jesus is much deeper than that. He knows me better than anyone at any church ever will. Sermons encourage me, but only Jesus can change my life and keep on keeping me near.

"Church" is not the answer for a longing heart--Jesus is. I have had so much to take to Him this week from within. I felt tired. I returned home, got down on my knees, and I opened up the Bible. Tears fell as I read Psalm 3. I thought about how jealous Satan is for every single thing that God gives me that is a threat to Satan. So many spirits can be sent my way, yet I HAVE THE VICTORY. If the battle were up to me, I would never win. But, Jesus fights my battles for me, and once again He keeps me close.

I praised Him as I read Hebrews 12:1-2, realizing that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of my faith. He is the Lord of my battles. He has a timing for everything, including tests. No spirit comes my way without the Lord's knowledge, and every demonic spirit is subject to Him.

I was blessed as I read in Mark about how the demons know Him (Mark 1:34)...I smile as I write about how Jesus knows the heart. (Mark 2:8). I grow weary in the battle, and He encourages me in verses like Galatians 4:29: people "of the flesh" will persecute people "of the Spirit" of God, and this is part of God's plan for my life. Persecution such as shame and mockery for the cross of Christ, which is my cross, is part of the plan.

But, oh how glorious it is to see Jesus rebuking Satan and giving me the victory time and time again. Neither height, nor depth, nor principality, nor things present, nor things to come can separate me from such love in Christ Jesus my Lord.

So, here in my one-room loft, I turned on my accompaniment CD to a song I will sing next week at First Baptist Morristown and began to sing:

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord...

As I sang 'Battle Hymn Of The Republic' to God, I could feel His pleasure. His Holy Spirit filled up the room and my heart to overflowing. I felt so happy and could want for nothing.

Thankful for every battle He has purchased with His blood,
Dwayna

P.S.--I am off to church tonight at Buckhead Church and plan to stop by some assisted-living nursing homes in my area to sing for the elderly there this afternoon. JESUS makes me glad.

Table Outreach Yesterday in the Philippines

"All the materials you sent are all gone in our table outreach here in the Philippines. Thanks and God bless." Nitoy (leader)

I wrote Nitoy back and asked him to please make copies of the articles I sent for the next table outreach.

Schedule

This Sunday I will be at First Baptist Atlanta, and NEXT Sunday I will be singing and sharing my testimony Sunday morning and Sunday night at First Baptist Morristown, TN.

Today, I have not stopped. I thought I had found the right bookkeeper here, but today I realized the student is not qualified enough on Quickbooks. I will continue to look for a student from Georgia Tech to help with the bookkeeping (paying the student 10.00 an hour, which is what we have paid a bookkeeper every year since the ministry began with a 501 c3 in 2003).

I have been doing a lot of bookkeeping today myself. I thank God that we have never been in debt in this ministry, and all is continuing to stay organized. We have never started an outreach without the provision first from God. So, now we are PRAYING ABOUT STARTING A MINISTRY IN MEXICO AND ALSO NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA. However, we cannot start these table outreaches until God provides more money. The focus will be on reaching homosexuals, New Agers, and Catholics in these locations.

I do feel led to start a new table outreach here in Atlanta. However, I am praying for God to send enough money. We need an extra 500.00 for supplies to start a new outreach of apologetics and evangelism here in Atlanta, which I would be leading.

Tomorrow I am speaking with the pastor at First Baptist NYC and look forward to posting our latest update from Christine on our outreach table of evangelism and apologetics on 79th and Broadway in NYC.

More Dangers of the Purpose Driven Church Movement

Here is a new article from James Sundquist, which I have also archived on our web site: Driving Out the Purpose Driven Church

...THE PURPOSE DRIVEN PLAYBOOK FOR CHURCH TAKE OVERS...

In the past ten years a lot of churches in America and in other countries have changed from a traditional New Testament church model to a contemporary Purpose Driven model, most with sorrowful pitiful results. Thousands of churches have split, closed, or had significant reductions in attendance. Most churches, after having a brief upsurge in growth, either reverted back to their original size or suffered church trauma by introducing the PDC model in their congregation. It is important that EVERY church member know if their church is targeted for a PURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH (PDC) takeover. Initially a small clique of church staff including the pastor plans the change without telling the rest of the church membership. Church Transitions (a PDC training arm) trains the clique initiating the change in eight steps. The church is not to be informed of the transitions until the fourth step. After the sixth step if there are some members in the church who voice concerns the following is suggested:

#1Identify those who are resisting the changes.
#2Assess the effectiveness of their opposition.
#3Befriend those who are undecided about changes.
#4Marginalize more persistent resisters or questioners.
#5Vilify those who stay and fight.
#6Establish new rules that will silence all resistance. Then the members either accept the changes or leave the church. Rick Warren, author and director of the PDC movement, says,’ When you reveal the vision to the church the old pillars are going to leave. But let them leave ... they only hold things up.'

So what are the signs that your church is targeted for a PDC change?

#1Change in music to a contemporary rock style.
#2Removal of hymn books...often words on a screen.
#3Elimination of the choir or introducing a choral 'entertainment type' singing group. (Repetitive praise lyrics are used).
#4Replacing the organ/piano with rock music type instruments.
#5Dressing down to casual informal attire.
#6A repetitive 40 day PDC study program stressing psychological relationships with each other, the community and the world.
#7Sunday morning, evening, and/or Wednesday prayer meetings are changed to other times, named differently or eliminated.
#8New versions of the Bible are used.
#9The decor may be changed to eliminate any resemblance to the 'former church.'
#10The name 'church' is often removed and may be called a 'campus.' Denominational names are often removed.
#11An emphasis on more fun and party times for the youth.
#12Elimination of altar calls or salvation invitations.
#13The elimination of such words as 'unsaved, 'lost, 'hell, and 'sodomy.'
#14Reclassification of the saved and lost to the 'churched' and 'unchurched'
#15The marginalizing or ostracizing of all who are not avid promoters of the new PDC program.

Why We Should Not Give Money to Cultic Groups

One of my friends emailed me this question today:

I have a question for you. Someone I know is a Seventh Day Adventist and asked me to give a donation to her missionary work. How would you handle that and avoid closing the door to having the opportunity to share the gospel with her? I just don't think that as a Bible believing Christian I can donate to SDA missionary work.

My response:

No, of course we should not give to proliferate a lie about our Lord. The Seventh Day Adventists vary from church to church, but Ellen G. White was definitely a false prophet. I have archived a lot of information on the beliefs of Seventh Day Adventists on the “Articles” page of the web site.

I believe this is a great opportunity for you to witness. To start, you can explain that we are told that if anyone brings another gospel, that other gospel is cursed (Galatians 1), and we are to test the spirits (1 John 4:1), and not have anything to do with doctrines of devils (1 Timothy 4:1). First of all, they teach that we are saved by works—meaning if we don’t “keep the Sabbath” we are cursed. This is a works salvation false gospel. But, that is only the beginning….

Maybe you can go to the web site and read some of the teachings and pray about witnessing to your friend, explaining why you cannot give a donation to proliferate the teachings that go against the Bible. Probably, your friend is unaware. I know that God is opening the door for you to share with her the Good News.

In Jesus,
Dwayna

Praying To Start New Ministry in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Dan, our leader for the West Hollywood outreach, also builds churches in Mexico.
Here are some of the churches Dan has built in Mexico...

They had their first wedding in this chapel Dan helped build in Mexico last week.

We want to start an outreach of apologetics to the American tourists in (Baja California) Los Cabos and to the Mexicans in Cabo, especially the Mexican children in poverty in surrounding areas.

Here I am discussing with Rosa, another Christian in Cabo San Lucas, tracts that can be copied and cut to give to Catholics. These brochures were written by Richard Bennett. Lord willing, we would use all tracts by Richard Bennett and Mike Gendron ( http://www.bereanbeacon.org/ and http://www.pro-gospel.org/ ) as well as books such as The Light That Was Dark by Warren Smith. Materials for people struggling with homosexuality would come from David Kyle Foster at http://www.purepassion.us/, making testimonies available for free on DVD and CD to tourists and locals passing. (caveat: Most people speak English in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and it is known as a party place where 98% of tourists are Americans.)

We hope to have a focus on reaching Catholics, New Agers, and people struggling with homosexuality... in Mexico. However, we cannot begin this without more funds. We hope to work with churches like First Baptist Cabo San Lucas.

HERE IS A SAMPLE OF WHAT ONE OF THE TRACTS TEACHES:

How are you saved?

The Catholic Church teaches it is by baptism (Canon 849).

What does the Holy Bible say?

Your faith in God’s mercy will save you and not your good works.

[…]

John 6:29: “…This is the work of God, that ye believe on him [Jesus] who he [God] hath sent.”

Romans 11:6: “And if by grace, then is it no more works: otherwise grace is no more grace.”

Work Update

Soon to come: updates from Mexico and NYC.

I have been working on some new songs today and also working on my songs for this Sunday at First Baptist Morristown. I hope to post photos and summaries on various outreach locations by tomorrow.

New Article from Berit Kjos (Perils of New Paradigm for Kids' Education)

Assaults on Faith and Family - Part 3
The Ominous "Success" of Re-Education

http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/009/3-family.htm

Here are some excerpts:

"'Students do me a favor,' urged author Ellen Gilchrist, a guest speaker at the school. 'Totally ignore your parents. Listen to them, but then forget them. Because you need to start using your own stuff...' Her aim was to free students from 'obsolete' family values, not promote personal independence. They must reject the old ways and become 'open-minded' -- ready to accept the unthinkable practices that would bombard their minds....

"After the third suicide, the Joint Interim Education Committee of the Arkansas legislature held hearings.... Perhaps the most revealing testimony came from Brandon's mother, who read from her son's log. In his first entry, he wrote, '...my mom is the best mom on earth.' But three weeks later, he wrote: 'My mom is so closed minded I feel like we will have a standoff soon over issues.'...

"Another mother testified that, 'My son came back from Governor’s School and his favorite line was ‘There are no absolutes; there are no absolutes.”'

Free Materials for Evangelism

We are using some of these free materials at our outreach table in the Philippines:

More on Tim Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian NYC

This link was emailed to me today.

http://biblicalthought.com/blog/rick-phillips-critiques-tim-kellers-latest/

As for me, "Give Me That Old-Time Religion." My, oh my, how times have changed since I grew up in (a sound) church, a church pleasing to Jesus and not the world. Now most churches have to appease the (pagan) culture it seems.

Back from Mexico

I am catching up like crazy, back now from an exciting trip to Mexico. If God provides the money, we can expand to Mexico working with churches like First Baptist Cabo San Lucas. Details and photos will soon follow...

(I would have posted sooner, but my lap top has been with my tech guy, as he was backing it all up on a hard drive while I was away, and I just got it back today.)
