After reading the account of the parade of people walking by in their underwear, I told Christine about the day I was setting up the table outreach in NYC at Columbus Circle when a parade of topless women walked by. No one wanted to talk about Jesus or the Bible until the parade passed. It was quite a scene of depravity and heartbreaking to see women made in God's image with so little confidence in their body as a precious gift from God, built to be a temple for His glory and a gift for one man in marriage...They obviously did not know their worth in Christ and neither did the men who were lusting after them. I was thankful for a PURE God as I stood there representing Him that day.--Dwayna

Dear Dwayna,

Just want to let you know that after a 3 week absence due to the holidays, we once again made our way out into the tunnels to proclaim the Good News to the lost of NYC. And today, we were shown just how lost some people in NYC really are.....

Though I am better, I am still recovering from the flu, and wanting to gain some much needed sleep and rest, I did not attend church this A.M., so that I could set up the table ministry this afternoon. I still spent time with the Lord in worship and study of His word to prepare, Psalm 119, and read devotionals from CH Spurgeon. (Thanks again for the book Look Unto Me! :)

Met with Suzi and Heidi at the Heritage Baptist Church Offices at 1:45 P.M., and we headed on out into the streets refreshed and with zeal and armed with a lot of NEW resources and materials!!! We set up at our usual "new" place in the tunnels and immediately started handing out Gospel of John books (100 were taken today), tracts, and Heidi manned the table that featured a lot of new Bibles, Hebrew Bibles, tracts and books regarding Contemplative Prayer, Emergent Church movement, New Age, and Roman Catholicism, to name a few. Most of these were taken as quite a few believers came up to the table and we were able to share with them about the deception and apostasy happening within the church today. Once again, praise the Lord, all the Bibles were taken. A few people came up who are involved in the Eastern religions; so the resources from Caryl Matrisicana, Johanna Michaelson, Ray Yungen and Warren Smith were very helpful as well as the tract on Yoga. Emergent movement resources from Roger Oakland and Bob DeWaay were also very helpful. All of these new resources are/were so needed and it was a true blessing to have them there and available. So THANK YOU for all of the trips you made to the P.O. to ensure we had them! ;) And thank you as well to all who donated.....

The Lord blessed this ministry today; even when we found ourselves up against the adversary once again. We found ourselves vying for "our space" at one point with a young, secular rap/hip-hop dance group who wanted to set up right across from us. While speaking with them, one of the older kids took a Bible and the younger kids took tracts and a booklets about knowing Jesus. However, while we thought we persuaded them into moving to another location, they eventually did set up right across from us; so we had to contend with loud, secular music for a while. As a result, we decided to just move our table down the way a little bit and away from that area, and it seemed to be in an even better location, once again proving that the Lord thwarts Satan's plans and uses what might be intended for evil for His own good purpose. When the police showed up later, they passed us on by while apparently breaking up the rap group probably due to no permit (they were soliciting money).

Another incident.... and you won't believe this one..... or maybe you will being that it is in NYC.... was that Satan led a group of YOUTHS (teenage-ish boys and girls) down the tunnel in nothing but their underwear and a winter coat. On a 25 degree day, for whatever reason (they wouldn't say, just, "what? oh I woke up this a.m. and forgot to put my pants on") they were marching somewhere in a winter coat and underwear. Still, once again, I managed to hand out about 1/2 of the Gospel of John books to these youths and I pray to the Lord that He will use these books to reach those who took them. It broke my heart to see such a scene. But the Lord is sovereign and as mentioned He uses what could be for evil, for His own good.

Please keep those who were reached today in prayer and that the Lord will continue to use this ministry to draw people nearer to Jesus. We are truly blessed to have this opportunity to serve our God in this way. We also pray for more workers to be raised up!

May the name of our Lord God, Maker of the Universe, and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be proclaimed with all honor and glory and praise forevermore!

As we prayed for divine appointments, the highlight for me was talking to a woman who just lost a friend and wanted to know about life after death. It was wonderful to share with her about Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, and to give her a Bible. Also talking to Taha Mohammed, who does post care for women who have had abortions, was a blessing. He believes all paths lead to God but after sharing that Jesus claimed to be the way, the truth and the life and the only way to the Father, he agreed to read Out of India about Caryl who was raised in India and embraced Hinduism until finding real life in Jesus. We can also pray for Eida Diaz who believes a Buddhist chant unlocks the highest potential for any individual and is the ultimate reality of life and the universe.

It is a privilege to have excellent resources to give freely to those who are open and searching. What a joy to offer with certainty the truth that leads to life abundant and eternal! May our Lord continue to grant us this great liberty and bless our efforts that many souls will come to know and love Him!!!
