From Dov and Olga:
Rescue the weak and needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
(Psalm 82:4)
Dear praying friends,
We have added a second weekly Bible study for drug addicts in Tel-Aviv – in cooperation with another group of believers who have got a similar ministry as ours. These additional Bible studies are taking place on Mondays and are really blessed. Please keep praying for the addicts.
We are grateful to all of you who are praying for Tanya and to all who has helped her financially. Every gift is very important to us, since it is the first time in our ministry that we have taken financial responsibility for an entire family upon ourselves. We saw Tanya’s critical situation and took this risk – the obligation to support her for at least one year – though we had not had all the necessary funds for the whole period… Each time, however, when I start worrying and loosing sleep, the Lord encourages me by a timely donation from some person or organization. Praise Him! It is also encouraging to go on and meet Tanya’s friends from the shelter for regular Bible studies.
Tanya has lived in Haifa for two months already. It is not easy for her to adjust to independent life outside the shelter. They also used to give her antidepressants in the shelter, so now she is more nervous without the pills and it is harder for her to overcome difficulties. Tanya is in contact with believers who visit her regularly, but she does not attend any congregation services anymore, for her little son becomes too restless and disturbing there.
She has not been able to find a job yet, since she has got no official status yet and no documents, and since her kids are in the kindergarten only till 1:30pm. However, when Tanya still lived in the shelter, she finished a hairdresser course, so we hope she will be able to apply her skills eventually.
I also ask you to pray for me. I feel exhausted quite often these days, as besides my responsibility over the home churches in the Negev, I have 5 weekly Bible studies – with different message for each, since the groups vary so much from each other. In addition, I am taking care of Tanya and also go to the rehab in Haifa (in fact, I would really like to visit it even more often), and, of course, there is always much work to do at home, with Yossi. Please pray that God would give me strength and also provide helpers for the ministry.
Thank you very much for all your prayers and may God bless you,
Dov and Olga Bikas
