I have had a great day with the Lord today. I took a walk alone with Him, praying to Him, and He gave me a swing in the shade where I could pray silently to Him, realizing that He knows my every thought.
I came home felt the need to hit my knees beside my bed for more prayer. Old songs I grew up singing came to mind, and I sang them to the Lord with them meaning even more to me now. Songs like: "So many souls have tested Him throughout the course of time; so many still reach out to Him with broken hearts and minds; It's so encouraging to know with no exception that they find; Jesus never fails...Jesus never fails; Jesus never fails; you might as well get thee behind me Satan you cannot prevail; 'cause Jesus never fails..."
But, my favorite song in my prayer time today is a praise song we sang this morning at church. (I am not sure about all the lyrics, but here is what I sang to God and felt His pleasure as I praised Him):
There is a Fountain
Who is a King
Victorious Warrior
And Lord of everything
My Rock, my Shelter
My very own
Mighty Redeemer
Who reigns upon the throne.
My prayers today have to do with the people dearest to my heart on earth--my family. It is a battle that Jesus can fight and win, but only He can.
It is so exciting to know Him as Savior! I pity anyone who misses out on the thrill of taking burdens to Him in prayer, for Him to answer for His glory. People don't know what they are missing when they don't know Jesus as LORD. Thank God, He is Lord over all the other spirits, and He watches over His own.
With Him working through my prayers, fighting battles on my knees,
Dwayna
