I just want to express my thanks to each of you and for the opportunity we have to work together in sharing our faith which is more precious than gold!
The weather was so lovely last week; it was great to set up outside! We always pray and trust that God will lead people to our table and that He would grant us His love and wisdom in sharing our hope.
Almost immediately folks began to gather around the table. Lawrence wanted to know what we were passing out, and I told him what Jesus did for him on the cross. He pulled a golden elephant out of his pocket and told me he prayed and worshiped it. I asked him why he would worship a lump of gold that couldn't hear or know him when he could have a relationship with the God of the universe. I explained that it was God's will for all of us to repent of our idolatry and love and serve Him only. By God's grace, he understood and wanted to pray. He received a Bible and said he would not make an idol of the elephant any longer. Praise the Lord for His conviction and faithfulness in draw Lawrence to Himself! The angels rejoice over one sinner who repents and we rejoice right along with them!
The reason I love sharing our faith is because Jesus is the only thing completely true and reliable in life. Satan, on the other hand, has been lying and deceiving people since the beginning. The challenge is to refute those lies with the truth of God's Word. We realize there is nothing special about us; we are simply passing on the goods! For he who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the son does not have life. I John 5:12
Especially during this season when we consider all that Jesus did for us, what a joy to pass on this good news of His life, death and resurrection. May we continue to lift Him up and see many come to know Him!
