LTW Update: NYC

[This update comes from Heidi. I sent them more shipments of materials this week. Praise God for this busy location! Updates from Christine and Suzi are soon to follow. We thank God for healing Heidi's head after the bungee cord hit her. That has happened to me before in setting up an outreach table, and it is very painful. That is when you really know you love Jesus. Although it is great fun telling people about Jesus, there is no glamour in trapsing across busy city streets with the dollies...setting up the tables, tearing down, receiving shipments, sending shipments...GOD BLESS THIS TEAM!]

Hi Dwayna, Greetings and Peace, Ahava and Shalom!!!!

Well.... I have to begin this update by saying that there is indeed spiritual warfare, especially for those of us who are on the front lines of the Lord's army, fighting the good fight of faith!! While heading out to our location this past Sunday, I suffered an accident when one of the bungie cords, which holds all our materials on the dolly, came lose and whacked me pretty hard on the forehead. But God is so good, that as soon as this happened, Christine prayed for me and, when Suzi joined us a few minutes later, she also joined in prayer for quick recovery and healing for me! I have to say that prayer is powerful, because not only did I not bruise badly, but most of the swelling has gone down, and all I have left is a small booboo which is getting better each day. The Lord was surely shining His face upon mine!

We set up at our usual location, with additional supplies, which I contributed after rummaging through more items at my home.

Christine brought along additional complete English Bibles, along with other materials.

We had a cross-section of people visit our table and converse with us regarding our materials, our ministry, and topics concerning salvation and Jesus.

Suzi spoke to many people, of which she will probably provide additional information, as I don't have all the details.

A young man approached me and told me that he wanted prayer for himself and his fiancee, Kim, who was currently in South Korea on a missions trip. He said that while she is a born-again Christian, he was not sure he was, although he did believe in God and knew about Jesus and His salvation. His prayer request was that he would be able to get a passport in order to join Kim, as he wanted to marry her. We indicated that we would pray with him in seeking the Lord's will for his life, and that most of all, he would make sure his election was sure.

Several people who were Christians approached the table at various times to commend us for being out there doing what we do and claimed that it was such a blessing to see us there!!

As usual, many people took Bibles and books and other tracts and CDs, and many were requesting worship CDs, of which we only had 3, which also were taken.

One young lady, named Tracy, who claimed to be both an agnostic and of Jewish background, talked with us for about 30 minutes or so regarding the need for salvation, who Jesus was, what He did for mankind, etc. She had such a wondrful attitude but was shocked when I told her that yoga was dangerous and a New Age practice. We were able to provide her with many materials from a Jewish Messianic as well as Christian perspective, in addition to information regarding New Age beliefs. We also challenged her to go and pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and implore Him to give her understanding and wisdom concerning the materials she was given and that she would truly understand the magnificient Gift that God gave us and His offer of salvation through Jesus. We told her to do that and then come visit with us the following Sunday so that we could discuss any questions or concerns she might have. We are hoping to receive a Good Report!!

Christian joined us and helped to pass out some tracts and talk to people.

There were many other stories that occured by the table, of which Christine and Suzi have more to possibly tell.

We stand together in prayer and supplications for more donations of items that Christians may desire to contribute to the ministry and we are so blessed by those who have already and continue to support us!!

Praise be to God and Jesus, our Blessed Messiah!!

Shalom,
Heidi
