From George and Goldie Shaw and Neva:
Another wonderful and exciting day at Santa Monica College. As the campus chimes were sounded at 9 AM, students came to our table before we could set up. Neva began passing out Scripture bookmarks, and three hours later she had given out hundreds and hundreds of bookmarks to students.
Korean students came one by one. Keym got a Bible. Yong took a Bible and a bilingual Korean - English Our Daily Bread. Another Korean, Youmi, (which means, ONLY BEAUTIFUL) wanted a Bible. Olivia got a Korean ODB.
Chinese students also came. Yuri, (which means, SWEET HOME) got a Bible and a CD-ROM. She was excited to be taking a class about religion, but did not know what it was about! May she find the truth as she reads her Bible. Wen got a Bible and a Chinese Jesus DVD. Jackie likewise got a Chinese Jesus DVD.
Many Jewish students came to receive. Ronie from Netanya, Israel, asked for a Hewrew - English New Testament. He said; "I've always wanted to read the N.T." He got it, plus a CD-ROM. Jonathan, his American Jewish buddy, got a Tanakh, (O.T.). Simon and Hanna each received a bilingual Tanakh. Elisha received a set of Hebrew Scriptures. Thomas wanted a Tanakh. Yvette got a regular Bible along with a Hebrew O.T. Deborah asked for a CD-ROM and a MESSIAH OF ISRAEL book. Then came Charles and Ricki.
Both got regular Bibles. Ricki is the coach of a Jewish boys' baseball team, called WULA BASEBALL TEAM. Ricki wanted a bilingual N.T. and 5 CD-ROM's for the team!
Aquila came to our table with David. Aquila is a Korean Pastor with the campus staff (on various campuses) with ISI; International Students, Inc.
David who came with him is from Africa, a very handsome African man with beautiful dark eyes.
Aquila is married to Priscilla, yes it's true. How's that for a modern matchup? Pastor Aquila K. wants to work with us on UCLA campus.
Ruichuan Wu (Chinese) really needs to learn English. So he took a Bible, Chinese DVD, CD-ROM. The Chinese DVD also has English.
Spanish, Arabic and Farsi were also shared with students. Truly an international day on campus.
Coming up the coast highway we saw on our way home the yellow mountain broome growing right out of the rocks on the slopes of the hills. May the students at SMC cling to the Rock, Jesus, the Messiah.
Thank you for your strong prayers to our heavenly Father in the name of our Lord Jesus.
