Another Day on the "Path of Life"

"Thou wilt show me the path of life." (Psalm 16:11)

"By the Word...I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer" (Psalm 17:4). Satan's paths are complex. They are not straight. And, they are always in moral contradiction to the Bible.

I have been studying how the Bible describes two paths--the "path of life" and the "path of the destroyer." The path of life only comes as a result of obedience to God, and it always involves suffering. (Of course, in this postmodern age, it is necessary to define "God." I am referring to the only pure God--the God of the Bible, not human beings who have been persuaded to believe they are gods!)

Because of the suffering, most people avoid the "path of life." However, Psalm 119 makes me want to avoid the "path of the destroyer" at all costs. It may appear to be the path of life, but a closer look shows it can offer me nothing. (Proverbs 14:12)

So, it has been another beautiful day on the "path of life." It is certainly a narrow road (Matthew 7:14), but I pray God will keep me on it with all my heart. It is a path free from sin.

Satan sets us free to sin. God sets us free from it.
