NYC Outreach Today

Resources on the table

Everything is free to people passing.
Suzi, Dwayna, Heidi and Christine
It was such a pleasure to have Frank join us. We had a great time on the very cold "spring" day. (I am holding up a new sign we just got for the table, which the team tapes to the railing behind the table to draw people over.)
(I am going to be sending them more CDs for the table entitled Riddle of Reincarnation, Psychic Phenomena, Zen Buddhism, Unity School of Christianity, Scientology and New Age Cults by Walter Martin.)
People stop to take free tracts, Bibles, and books about how to be saved through Jesus and how to have a personal relationship with God based on grace.
We offer answers to people from all walks of life, from atheists...to Hindus....and Catholics...
Working with the team today made me wish I still lived in NYC. We are all good friends on the team, zealous to tell others about Jesus...

...and we do, for God's glory alone, realizing when no one sees but Him, it is enough. What a joy to tell people who see no need for a Savior and claim to not be sinners and hate religion that we hate "religion" too, explaining that Jesus called the most religious people of His day "white washed tombs." The man pictured above stopped and asked, "Where is Jesus now?" Christine answered, "Alive in heaven to hear our prayers." The man seemed to finally understand that he is a sinner. We invited him to church tomorrow, and Frank said, "It will be full of sinners just like you." He laughed. Heidi added, "Christians have just been saved from sin and have been redeemed." We offered the guy practically everything on the table, and he kept smiling, turning the materials down. I asked, "Have you ever felt more loved in your life?" We all laughed. He said that we had certainly made him feel loved. Suzi said, "It is just that we want to see you in heaven." We stood there freezing, realizing that we should have set up the table underground in the Times Square subway. It was such a cold day. At the close of the day the entire team got to share with someone how Jesus has saved us to be drastically different from the world, to the point of not taking for granted our freedom, guarding our lives to live for Him.
