Christians, "No need to waste your time with such people who could even be mentally ill!" Does God not care about the mentally ill? They are not too lost for Him to save. Since God sees the heart, and not the outward appearance, maybe this man looks better on the outside to God than a world of people on the inside on Wall Street or Madison Avenue.
I am at total ease in this environment. The focus is on the Gospel, not me. I don't allow any flirting of any kind and never set up alone. Plus, I am surrounded by people, right across from the police station and don't set up at night. Jesus hates the darkness much more than we do, and He came into a dark world full of sin to save us. I can certainly set up a table in Little Five Points in Atlanta. Besides, I love it! I love giving people answers for why I believe in Jesus and defending His name. Bring on the challenge! All the right answers cannot make someone believe, only God's mercy to quicken a lost heart. But, as Christians, we do have answers with a Savior whose name is Truth. (John 14:6)

Judging from the rough environment some may wonder, "How can you touch these people?" One
Christian told me years ago, "It is a shame you don't have a husband
to not allow you to go to these rough places like Venice Beach..." When we began our work in West Hollywood, an official with the City of West Hollywood asked, "Who do you think you are? A 'gay' person comes here to be free!" I answered, "This is someone's son, someone's daughter, someone's mother or father. They are hurting. If I show them I love them in humility I can reach them with God's love." The City official consented in giving me the permit, and the team has been continuing the work there ever since.
The darker the environment, the more fun to "contend earnestly for the faith once handed down to the saints" Jude 3

Little Five Points is much easier, as a matter of fact, than Venice Beach or West Hollywood. No matter who the person, my job is to let them know I am no better and meet them in God's pure love with His pure Truth. If they ever perceived a self-righteous, condescending air about me toward them, nothing I would say would matter. Showing them acceptance in humility is not hard when I think of how Jesus humbled Himself for my sake and how God accepts someone like me. No one is better than anyone else at the foot of the cross.
