Hello Dwayna,
The news from Boulder is that I taught a group from my church using the Way of the Master Evangelism Crash Course, and Saturday was our concluding class. Six adults and two youth went on a "fishing" trip to the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder for an hour and a half (longer next time), and we set up the table with books and tracts and flyers to give away. I say "table" but actually I forgot the little table back in the classroom, so we improvised with the dolly, the storage tubs and the table cloth. It worked fine!
I have attached a couple pictures, and our visitor gave permission for his photo to be used. Tom, in the wheelchair, used the "Smart Card" tract to talk with several people. None of the students (except Tom) were outgoing people, but they all are convicted that God wants them to do more to reach the lost. It was a good experience for them, and I think they will join me again, maybe once a month.
There were two conversations I will remember for some time. One was a homeless young woman and man, on their way to California as money became available. She said her name was "Sunshine", and she looked pretty disheveled as she told me that people treat the homeless poorly, like they're not even human. They were open to the Gospel, and the young man said he was interested in reading the Bible, so I gave him the book of John. I also gave them $5 though I don't normally give money (food is better), and Sunshine was very excited and thanked me profusely. I wanted her to experience an unexpected gift from someone representing Jesus.
I also spoke to a young man named Nick. When I described how he would stand before God on judgment day and be accountable for his sins, he said, "I've been in a courtroom too many times already, and I don't want to meet another judge when I die." I shared the Good News of the Savior, but it didn't reach him. At least he kept the tract.
The next time for me in Boulder will be Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, 5/30, from 2 to 5...We can set up the table on the Mall and shine the Light in Boulder.
To God be the glory,
Patty
