Update from Heidi:Greetings Dwayna!! from the "Windy City", a euphemism usually reserved for grand ole Chicago....
It was uncharacteristically windy and quite cold, so we decided to set up the table at our Times Square subway abode. In the coming Sundays, if the weather permits, we hope to once again set up in front of the Post Office at 33rd and 8th Avenue and at park locations (Central Park/Bryant Park), as the Lord leads.
The previous Sunday, we did not set up the table as we were invited by one of Suzi's friends, Kasha, to join her and other ministries in Central Park for a time of witnessing and evangelism. Suzi may be able to provide a greater introspective on what occurred during our time there...
Christian was able to join us in ministry this Sunday and we had a lot of visitors to the table, including some returnees.
Patricia, the woman with whom I spoke 2 weeks ago and to whom I gave several materials for her Jewish friend Moishe including an audio testimony on CD by Stan Telchin, a former Jew who is now a Hebrew Christian, and other various audio aides), stopped by to tell me about her friend Moishe and his wife, who were glad to receive said materials and were truly blessed by them!! They were seeking to know more as their consciences were pricked by the knowledge that we were able to provide for them. How happy was I to hear this!! I have a heart for the Jewish people, that they would come to know and believe upon the One Who was sent to the House of Israel, Yeshua HaMasiach, Jesus the Messiah!!
As seems to be the norm these days, many of the people who came to the table were from various backgrounds and world religious belief systems. Some were Born-Again Christians who considered themselves backsliders. I was able to speak to one man named Frank, and was able to encourage him to seek out a good church where he lives (Pennsylvania), and I was able to pray with him for him to stay in the faith and to persevere, especially against temptations.
Several Latinos approached us, and we were able to give them various tracts concerning Roman Catholicism and its traditions vs. the Bible and Biblical Faith. Many people of Latino origin tend to be Roman Catholic, so these tracts were very helpful in explaining things to them. All persons seemed genuinely grateful to receive said information and once again, Spanish Complete Bibles and New Testaments were requested which, unfortunately, we did not have on hand. We did have a few Gospels of John and some Study on the Book of Romans in Spanish, which we gave away.
Another lady approached the table and sought my advice on a personal matter...I was also able to warn about some misgivings I had concerning the current church she was attending as well as provide her information regarding the Emergent movement and contemplative spirituality, purpose driven philosophy, and their involvement with the new age philosophy and ecumenism. She was quite surprised to hear some of the information I gave her and was thankful for the information.
We take great joy in not only ministering to the brethren and warning them against the apostasy which is growing by leaps and bounds in the church, but were also happy to witness to the unsaved and point them to the Messiah, the Savior of all mankind.
Suzi was able to converse with a young lady for quite some time regarding the dangers of yoga and Mormonism, and she also had a lengthy discussion with a young man who is a Freemason and of Jewish background who had no knowledge of the real agenda of masonry. We gave him plenty of material to read, including a book that I had in my possession called "Brotherhood of Darkness" by Dr. Stanley Monteith. We were also able to give him the Old Testament (Tanakh) in Hebrew/English. I highly recommend Dr. Montieth's book as it gives an overview of all the different secret societies and cabals that have existed and continue to exist in the world today and their influence in both the political and spiritual arenas.

We tried to warn the young man that membership in a secret society is not compatible with God and Biblical Faith. Additionally, the "god" of secret societies, sometimes referred to as the "Grand Architect", among many other nomenclatures, is not YHWH of the Holy Scriptures, the Great I AM. We encouraged him to read and seek the Lord in prayer for Him to show and lead him in the Way of Truth.
We also had opportunity to speak on the last days and the times we find ourselves in, as well all believe that time is short.
We encouraged many of the poeple to attend a good biblical church and in the instances where they did not have a church to attend, we invited them to come visit at our church. We also advised them to e-mail us at thegoodnewsfriends@yahoo.com with any questions they had or for prayer requests.
We stayed out until close to 7 p.m. and ended our time with a group prayer for all the souls that visited the table that day and that the Lord Jesus Christ would reveal Himself to them and that they would come to knowledge of the truth and to salvation. We also prayed for more supplies and donations, as the Lord would lay upon the hearts of those who would be led to continue to provide to this ministry. We also prayed for protection as Christian was injured with one of the bungee cords on his hand.... and it nearly hit me again. Oy vey!!
