God could not have given us a better first day! Everything went smoothly, and the students were receptive. The students who stopped seemed genuinely appreciative of the outreach.

We never call for anyone to come over, trusting God to lead over the people He wants.

We set up on Friday morning for this first day, but Tom is hoping to set up on Saturdays before the football games.

The students seemed in a hurry getting to class, so they may have more time on a Saturday. We are praying for God to show us which day would be best for setting up on a regular basis.

I walked past this student, and he was reading his Bible. After living in very liberal places in America, I guess I expected the students at UT to be more liberal than what we saw Friday morning. Everyone was well mannered, carrying themselves with maturity. I enjoyed every conversation we had as God brought up the students to our table. We were never bombarded, like we presume to be, should we set up before a Saturday football game closer to the stadium. This was the perfect beginning. We are are there for God's glory, no matter how many approach. Even if it is just for one person, it is worth it.

This man, Christian, said he would like to work the table in ministry with Tom, the leader! He was so nice, and he made it clear that he is a Christian with a heart for ministry. When he first approached, I told him we had something on the table for anyone--from atheists to Hindus--and he said, "I am a Christian. I only want what you have for a Christian." I quickly clarified that all of our materials were from a biblical standpoint to
reach atheists, Hindus, New Agers, etc., as we give a defense for why we believe in Jesus over all the other false gods. He lit up and said he loved apologetics, so Tom is hoping to work with him. It would be much stronger to have Christian students working with Tom, rather than Christian adults, so we are praying for more students to work with us.
