Our Challenge in Evangelism These Days

I got so excited when my friends from "Christian Witness to a Pagan Planet" wrote to let me know they are considering writing new booklets to reach various people groups. I sent them back a prompt message in alacrity, explaining that there is such a need for this. We would write the tracts for Buddhists, Hindus, witches and people in general involved in occult spirituality if we only had the time! Such evangelistic materials cannot be found, to my knowledge. For this reason, I am focusing on writing the new web site for people all over the world who are not Christians, as a place for them to go to get such answers. Here is my response to a letter asking me to provide more information about the tracts and booklets we need in this ministry:

We need tracts/booklets written TO and FOR the lost. So many booklets are written as if they are to Christians, to educate them on various belief systems and religions. More and more I appreciate it as a GIFT from God to have booklets written TO the lost person. For instance, when a lost person is minding his or her business, not believing he or she is in error, the last thing they want to take is a pamphlet on all the religions called essentially “The Bible vs. Error.” Believe it or not, there is actually a pamphlet called that from Moody Press on the cults vs. the Bible and religions vs. the Bible. No postmodern non-Christian person wants it. Such a pamphlet is informative for Christians, but a person involved in a false religion/spirituality would never take that in a thousand years, because it is insulting to the lost person. Most lost people do not believe they are in error and don’t even realize they are lost!

We need witnessing materials for people who believe they have a relationship with God, due to occult spirituality and EXPERIENCE. These people know nothing about testing the spirits, and they have never heard of such a thing. Our challenge is to let them know their experience and mystical sensation is not from the TRUE and PURE God. There are currently NO booklets, to my knowledge, written for the following people groups for the purpose of evangelism: witches, Buddhists, Hindus, Gothic teens, and people believing in reincarnation.

...I pray I will get this new web site done, so we can at least give these lost people all over the world a web site where they can find answers about WHY their spirituality is not of the only true and pure God.

One more thing, for my two cents worth, if you all write generic booklets for evangelism, please define the terms. People think they are gods, so when we quote them John 3:16, we have to explain that there is another God more powerful than people. :-) It sometimes takes a while to prove to the person they are not divine after all. :-) Every term has to be explained these days. People don’t understand a Bible verse like they used to. When dealing with a Buddhist, there is no such thing as “sin," so the Bible verses on sin have no more meaning than any part of a conversation has to a person believing in “nothingness.” Only God can break through such confusion. I thank Him that salvation is His work and not mine!
