LTW Outreach in Kenya

The pastor and his wife began a table outreach after visiting the LTW web site. We have been in communication, and LTW is going to try to raise money for some Bibles for this outreach. Here is a letter from the pastor:

Thank you for all your encouraging emails and your acts of kindness, for replying my emails in time and recognizing the work of God we are doing among the poor people in Nairobi and more so the table outreach ministry. It has really meant a lot to us...All the blessings of the Lord, everything we have in life is given from above. To sustain us and to keep us and to share God’s precious Love. Blessings come in different ways and sometimes can be missed. So thank the Lord who gave them and for all that He is. I thank God that you are prayerfully considering to part with my ministry in Kenya.

Kenya is mostly a Christian country (80% Christians), but this figure is gradually going down because many people have not been reached with the true gospel of Jesus Christ, Islam is trying to fight Christianity, just two months ago we had a constitutional referendum which passed and Muslim is now exalted in the new constitution and I am sorry to say that this was also supported by the Obama administration, Muslims will now have special law courts all over Kenya. We need more evangelism in Kenya than before.

In Kenya especially among the poor areas where I serve God the major problem with Christians is how to get a Bible, many people can not afford to buy a Bible, I would appreciate if you buy us some Bibles which we will give for free. I want to tell you that like in my church over 70% of the my church members don't have Bibles at all, if we give free Bible in our outreach table then many people will come for them and it will be a powerful too for evangelism especially in Kibera slum. Many people they don't know the truth of the gospel because they don't have Bibles to read.

Its very safe to receive Bibles in Kenya if you ship them to me but will be paying a custom duty of US$ 1 for each, here we use English and Kiswahili, our national language, and many Bibles are written in these two languages, in Kenya we have 42 tribes and vernacular languages. 99% of the people in kenya uses Kiswahili language so a Kiswahili Bible is more needed in Kenya. A King James Bible version in kenya cost US$ 6 (Kiswahili) and US$ 5 (English). In kenya we don't have a Bible printing firm but we buy Bible in the Bible society of Kenya and scripture union plus other small Bible seller. You are free to send me money I buy Bible locally or you buy and ship them to us.

I have been doing evangelism for the last 7 years and I have seen many people come to Jesus in many parts of the country, I know that someone is saved when they confess their sins and accept Jesus as their Lord personal saviour, we always do follow up to all our members especially the new converts.

I And my wife are determined to continue with our table outreach ministry in Nairobi with or without financial support, as I told you earlier our focus is on the lost souls, I desire to see people accept Jesus as their personal Saviour and live a holy life. Although we have several financial difficulties in ministry but that cannot stop us from moving ahead, because we know God will provide in due season. The best thing is that God has seen our willingness and heart to serve the poor people of Kibera and Kawangware plus several other places.

We will continue with our table outreach every Saturday and I will be sending pictures and reports, still we need more evangelism materials, as we get more materials and free Bibles from you we will even be having table outreach two days or more per week. My sister I am praying that God will direct you to partner with me. I look forward to hear from you.

May God's mercies and goodness pursue you continually in Jesus name!

I am your brother in Christ,
