New York Metro PCA Presbytery (led by Tim Keller of Redeemer Presbyterian NYC) Slanders Presbyterian Pastor for Standing for the Bible

There is finally one thing the New York Metro PCA Presbytery will not tolerate: criticism of heretical teachings based on the Bible, from even a another Presbyterian Pastor. This pastor is criticized for his biblical stand, and the New York Metro PCA Presbytery suggests that this pastor has committed an act of "slander" for standing for the Bible. However, they considered it such a great act of slander that they actually accused the man (Dr. Dominic Aquila) whom they thought published it of slander because he published it. (Tim Keller, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church NYC, basically runs the NY Metro PCA Presbytery.) Ironically, according to the Aquila Report, it was not even Dr. Aquila who published the article but Metokos Ministries.

God bless this pastor, John Otis. A letter from the NY Metro Presbyter has falsely accused this Bible-fearing man of God. Illogically, they have slandered this man without a doubt, while falsely accusing him of slander! Are we surprised by yet another such contradiction from elders like Tim Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian NYC? This is not the first time they have accused someone of doing something they themselves are doing.

Read details here.

Below are the details in simplicity as we see a pivotal move taking place by "leaders" in Christianity, putting this PCA denomination in danger--the same danger that provoked the Protestant Reformation, by the way! Men were taking too much power and not enough power was given to the Word of God.

First, I would encourage everyone to read the article by John Otis. It is long but well worth it. In this article, Otis mentions that a pastor named Dr. Craig Higgins (of Trinity Pres. NYC, A CHURCH PLANT of Redeemer Presbyterian NYC) wants to go back to bishops, a worldwide ecumenical council with the Pope as presiding bishop, and lent and Ash Wednesday. He also teaches that by baptism we are made heirs of the kingdom of heaven and wants to go beyond the debate over baptismal regeneration (a heresy!).

Second, these views were exposed publicly by John Otis on http://www.theaquilareport.com/. .

Third, Metro New York is Tim Keller's Presbytery. He is a very influential member. (It has been suggested to me by some Christians in NY that Tim Keller is lacking in any accountability whatsoever, due to his influence in the NY Metro PCA Presbytery.) The Presbytery meets in his office. They planted many of the churches in that presbytery, including Trinity PCA, of which Dr. Craig Higgins is the Pastor.

Fourth, Metro New York PCA Presbytery became aware of the article about Higgins (posted here).

Fifth, instead of investigating Higgins' views and bringing him up on charges for teaching heresy,
they instead accused the man who published the critique of breaking the 9th commandment!

Sixth, the main point is that MNY PCA Presbytery will tolerate almost anything except criticizing their ministers (See, for example, the teaching of Ron Choong, who believes the fall is an upward fall of rising beasts.)

They often refer to anyone who criticizes them as "hateful," yet they show themselves to be hateful toward the person criticizing the heretical teachings. The Bible says that we must contend for the faith (Jude 3). Paul's teaching to the Corinthians was written TO CHRISTIANS and was all about guarding the church of Jesus for God's pure gospel. Galatians 1 says that if ANYONE brings another gospel, let that person be "accursed." Well, the person bringing the other gospel is praised, evidently, in the NY Metro PCA Presbytery, and it seems any "dissenter" is more likely to be deemed "accursed" assessing the attitude in this public letter from the Presbytery slandering this godly pastor, John Otis. It has all been made public, and every Christian in America needs to read about this. Does this mean that if Tim Keller teaches anything heretical no one is allowed to question his teachings, even a pastor within his own denomination?

More on the NY Metro PCA Presbytery here.

I am thankful for the sincere pastors within the PCA denomination (Johannes Weslianus and Bayly Blog ) who love Jesus more than the praise of people. Why stand for the Bible at the expense of losing "friends" and compliments? How about at the risk of being slandered and lied about, by EVEN PASTORS AT GOVERNING PRESBYTERIES? There is no other reason but because of devotion to the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us to purchase our eternal life.

People need to write Rev. John Otis to encourage him. God has shown favor on him, allowing him to suffer for the Lord's name. No doubt, God will hold the NY Metro PCA Presbytery accountable for its slander toward this pastor whom God loves. After all, Rev. John Otis was given love for God's Word from God, for such a time as this.

Please hear sermon by Pastor Bob DeWaay on why we must earnestly contend for the faith, even within the church.

God bless TE Dominic Aquila for his stand for the Bible, too, in support of the article by John Otis.
